Welcome to the report on legislative bills of interest to NHNA and its membership.

HB 208 (Commission to study current procedures for involuntary commitment)  On 4/06/17 this bill PASSED in the Senate and moved to House for concurrence.  On 6/22/17 this bill was ordered enrolled. NHNA has a seat on the Commission that will be created by this bill.

HB 242 (Changing the definition of E-Cigarettes) On 5/11/17 this bill FAILED TO PASS in the Senate.

HB 264 (Establishing a commission to study oral contraceptives OTC)  On 4/25/17 the Governor signed this bill (Chapter No: 2017-23).  NHNA has a seat on the Commission created by this bill.

HB 279 (Eliminates ban on smoking indoors on private property) On 3/8/17 this bill was "Laid on Table", which is a means of killing a bill.

HB 322 (Completion of a survey at license renewal) On 6/16/17 the Governor signed this bill (Chapter No. 2017-131).

HB 362 (Prohibiting certain immunization requirements for non-communicable diseases) On 6/16/17 the Governor signed this bill (Chapter No, 2017-137).

HB 250 (Commission to study benefits/costs of a health care for all option).  On 5/11/17 this bill FAILED TO PASS in the Senate.

SB 137 (Board of Nursing granting licenses by endorsement) On 6/22/17 this bill was ordered enrolled.

SB 152 (Criminal background checks)  On 6/22/17 this bill was ordered enrolled.

SB 154 (Oral contraceptives OTC)  This bill was re-referred to Senate Committee on Health & Human Services on 3/30/17.

SB 236 (To make Medicaid Expansion permanent in NH)  On 3/16/17 this bill was Laid on Table; waiting for Federal decision on Medicaid block grants.

HB 575 (Certification of acupuncture detoxification specialists)  On 5/221/17 the Conference Committee Report was adopted in House and Senate.
